Essex Winter Series is grateful to once again be one of many recipients of funding from the Essex Community Fund. For the upcoming year, the $250 grant received will support our scholarship program, the Francis Bealey Memorial Scholarship, which was established in 1995 after the passing of Essex Winter Series board president Francis Bealey to honor his commitment to music and arts education.
Annually, Essex Winter Series reviews applications and provides one scholarship award to a qualifying Valley Regional High School graduating senior who will further their musical studies as a major in college. Students benefit from a scholarship that generously provides $1,000 for each year of study, for a total of $4,000. The funding that the Essex Community Fund provides is essential to make this program possible.
The application process for 2025 is underway at the high school with review pending for this year’s award to be given at a school ceremony on May 27th.
