Essex Winter Series Receives Arts Outreach Grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County

Community Outreach

Essex Winter Series will present a three-day artist residency with members of the Resurgam Quartet, thanks to funding in part by the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, through a grant made possible by the generosity of the River View Cemetery Fund and Elizabeth Swaim Arts Enrichment Fund.

As part of its arts outreach programming, Essex Winter Series’ artistic director Mihae Lee has collaborated with schools and community organizations to schedule master classes, workshops and mini-concerts. On March 20, for the Fenton Brown Emerging Artists Concert prior to the start of their outreach commitment, the Resurgam Quartet, a dynamic group of saxophonists, will present selections from Borne, Piazzolla, Schumann and Schubert. Beginning March 21, the Resurgam Quartet members expect to visit a number of sites throughout Middlesex County. “Essex Winter Series is proud of our history of presenting world-class artists in the Valley Shore area,” said artistic director Mihae Lee. “But this grant is invaluable to our commitment to bring quality arts programming to a greater audience, beyond the annual four-concert series.”
