Each year, as a part of fulfilling our mission to enhance our Shoreline and Connecticut River Valley communities, Essex Winter Series brings artists to perform and educate as a part of our Community Outreach Program, a program initiated by Artistic Director Mihae Lee 15 years ago. For 2025, our emerging artists, Terra String Quartet – violinists Harriet Langley and Amelia Dietrich, violist Chih-Ta Chen, and cellist Audrey Chen – will visit 19 different facilities.
In addition to visiting schools and senior communities throughout Middlesex and New London counties over a four-day residency, this talented group of musicians will also participate in two free and open-to-the-public workshops. On March 11, 2025, at 6 pm, they will join with the Community Music School String Ensemble at the Essex Town Hall. The quartet will also appear at Essex Library on March 12, 2025, at 4 pm.
The Essex Winter Series Outreach Program is made possible thanks to funding in part from the ASP Trust, Essex Savings Banks Community Investment Program, Fenton Brown Circle, Kitchings Family Foundation, and (specifically for the library presentation) the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, through a grant made possible by the generosity of the Guilford Savings Bank Charitable Fund and Luke’s Home Fund.
